In 1803, the United States, while attempting to purchase New Orleans from France, unexpectedly bought the entire territory which at that time was called Louisiana. The Louisiana Purchase doubled the size of the United States and gave us access to a wealth of natural resources.

Journey back 200 years and relive the adventure of the Lewis and Clark Expedition as we start at their beginning, "Camp River Dubois", and adhere to the designated highways that most closely follow the actual route they took. We visit and walk in many of the same spots these brave men journeyed.
