Experience exotic Central America with Adventure
Caravans on our guided RV Caravan to the Panama
Canal. One of the most important factors of any
tour going to Central America is the caravan staff.
We feel that we have the best in the business.
They are professionals and know their jobs. The
Tailgunner team is experienced and can take care
of your needs in case of a breakdown along the
way.
The regions we visit are exceptionally varied,
from the flat limestone shelf of the Yucatan in
Mexico to the steamy jungles of El Peten in Guatemala,
Costa Rica and Panama. This is an extensive trip
through ALL seven Central America countries plus
Mexico. Bird life from the jungles to cool pine-clad
mountains is incredible. Just don’t forget to
bring binoculars and cameras!
We rendezvous in Pharr, Texas and then enjoy
ten adventurous days in Mexico as we travel the
east coast to Veracruz and on to Belize by way
of Palenque and Chetumal. We visit the friendly,
laid-back, proud country of Belize on the way
to Panama. You don’t want to miss this beautiful
English speaking Nation.
During the first part of this adventure we see
the ruins of El Tajin, Palenque, Tikal (Guatemala)
and Copan (Honduras) as well as other important
sites in Belize, Guatemala and Honduras. Central
America has many beautiful, pristine beaches where
we enjoy exciting meals, boat cruises and tours
including a horse and buggy tour of Granada and
our two “all inclusive days” at the Montelimar
Beach Resort.
Next is Costa Rica, one of the most visited countries
by today’s fun seekers. It is famous for its rain
forests and is one of the world’s main producers
of coffee. We do many things here including the
Costa Rica Highlights Tour: enjoy a night in a
first-class hot springs resort hotel while viewing
the live Volcano Arenal, tour a coffee plantation
and factory and enjoy Costa Rica’s “world famous”
Rain Forest Aerial Tram.
The Panama Canal was completed in 1913 and took
75,000 men, 10 years and $400 million to build.
Our Panama City stay includes three days of bus
tours and two-nights in a hotel. The first day
includes a Panama City and area highlights tour.
The second day we traverse the Panama Canal’s
Miraflores and Pedro Miguel Locks by boat. The
next morning we tour the Chagres River with Embera
Indians who take us to their village for a native
lunch and to observe their primitive culture.
“Good things come in small packages” is very fitting
for El Salvador as we enjoy what the “Land of
Precious Things” has to offer on our way to Guatemala.
Guatemala Mountain Hot Springs RV Park is our
base camp for five days as we take bus tours to
Guatemala City, Antigua, Chichicastenango, Panajachel
and Lake Atitlan to see the many treasures that
each has to offer.
Back in Mexico we travel a different route home
and enjoy a fantastic dinner and show in Tehuantepec,
an excellent boat tour in Catemaco and then top
it all off with our traditional Adventure Caravans’
Farewell Dinner in CD Victoria.
This trip is only 6,000 miles, which is about
the same distance as Alaska. Reserve early as
these two particular caravans sell out early.
Remember! You will probably only do this trip
once in your life, so do it right the first time.
We promise this will truly be one of the most
memorable caravans that you have ever been on.
Note: This is a very nice trip but is for the
Adventuresome only. The roads are poor in some
areas and we spend many nights parked in hotel
parking lots and other designated parking areas
with no hookups. We have electric hookups 35 out
of 77 nights so it is important that you have
a generator. Hundreds of RVers have enjoyed this
trip but if you expect all of the conveniences
of the USA, then this trip is not for you. Please
call our office if you want to discuss the logistics
of this trip further. Toll free 1-800-872-7897
