The city of Calgary goes all out once a year to present the “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.” You can’t help but have the time of your life at the world famous Calgary Stampede. It’s an awesome spectacle of “How The West Was Won!”
We have guaranteed reserved seating
for all Stampede activities including
world class rodeo events, world championship
chuckwagon races and the
Outdoor Grandstand Spectacular. In
addition, we have many exciting tours,
meals and events planned for you during
the rally. The best part is that you can
sit back, relax and not worry about a
thing as we have made the reservations
and done all the planning for you.
Chartered buses are at our disposal for
the entire stampede to take us on tours
and to all the functions so we don’t have
to worry about the traffic or driving. This
is your vacation, let us do the work. We
make reservations a year in advance
and stay at an RV park with electric and
water hookups (not at a stadium or in an
open field with generators and a “Honey
Wagon” for dumping).
We are greeted upon arrival by our
Rally Wagonmaster and invited to a get
acquainted orientation plus a welcome
dinner this evening.
Rally #1 and Rally #2 are the same and
include everything except for the following
differences: Rally #1 has reserved seating
at the Calgary Stampede Parade. Rally
#2 has reserved seating for the Rodeo
Stampede Finals. It’s your choice, the
Stampede Parade or Rodeo Finals.
You’re in for a treat when we visit the
Observation Deck of the revolving Calgary
Tower. Here we enjoy the awesome
panoramic views of the city below and
the Canadian Rockies in the distance.
We visit Olympic Park and enjoy an
“Olympic Experience” tour plus view the
bobsled/luge track. We then enjoy a view
of Calgary and the Rocky Mountains on
the scenic chair-lift ride to the base of
the 90 meter ski jump tower where we
can watch athletes training even during
the summer. We also visit the Olympic
Hall of Fame Museum to enjoy exciting
bobsled and ski jump simulators.
One morning we’re off to Rope Square
and the Olympic Plaza for breakfast and
special entertainment. We see world
championship cowboy hat stomping
contests, rip roaring street dancing and
the Great Western Flapjack Flip. We
also visit the popular Glenbow Museum.
We next head for the Stampede grounds
and our reserved seating for the most
famous rodeo in the world. We see the
best of the best saddle up for a groundshaking
showcase of world class rodeo
action. See top professionals in the sport
take on the untamed fury of the West’s
wildest horses in the saddle bronco and
bareback riding events and the heartstopping
action of rodeo’s most exciting
and dangerous event, bull riding. Add
to this the crazy antics of the famous
and fearless rodeo clowns, the wild cow
milking event and the wild horse race
- now you’ve got the recipe for rugged
rodeo excitement you will never forget.
The sights! The sounds! The taste! It is
everything you remember a great midway
to be and then some. Enjoy wild west
excitement as we enter Stampede Park.
Watch the pig and duck races or walk
through an authentic Indian village. Stroll
the streets of a recreated frontier town or
challenge lady luck at the casino.
another exciting Million Dollar Rodeo
contest followed by the World Championship
Chuckwagon Races. Chuckwagon
racing is an amazing contest of nerves and
horsepower. This sport is straight from
the pages of western history and comes
alive right before our eyes. This is only the
start of a sensational Stampede evening
culminating with a lovely buffet dinner at
our private clubhouse table while enjoying
the rest of the evening and the “Greatest
Outdoor Show on Earth.”
As the sun goes down, the stars come out.
For the next 90 minutes on the gigantic
outdoor stage, hundreds of singers,
dancers and musicians dazzle us in a
lavishly produced and choreographed
non-stop musical variety spectacular. We
laugh, clap and even sing-along as top
variety acts from around the world perform
a glittering Grandstand show. The show
culminates with a dazzling combination of
fireworks and laser lights – a fitting end to
a wonderful day.
On a day when no action is happening at
the Stampede, we enjoy a full-day bus tour
that includes the Canadian Rockies, snow
capped mountains and the magical land of
Banff and world famous Lake Louise.
On the final day we say our good-byes
at a farewell continental breakfast as
we remember all of the good times we
enjoyed in Calgary, the city where “The
World Meets The West.” |
