We rendezvous and spend our first night at the Oakwood RV Park in Rugby, North Dakota. En route to Brandon we stop in Boissevain for a tour of the Wildlife Museum and murals including lunch. In Brandon we enjoy a full day guided city Bus Tour.
Next is Dauphin where we visit Fort Dauphin and enjoy a fabulous Ukrainian Dinner while here. Traveling north, vast expanses of prairie grain fields and cattle ranches slowly change to boreal forests, pristine lakes and increasing numbers of wildlife.
The Pas! A small friendly city, with plenty to see and do. We visit the Sam Waller Museum and Christ Church. We park our rigs near the La Pas Casino.
Thompson serves as the base camp for our exciting trip to Churchill, “The Polar Bear Capital of the World.” We enjoy the best of both worlds as we travel to Churchill by passenger train and return by plane, flying in comfort and enjoying Northern Manitoba and its beauty from the air.
We are in awe for the next four days and three nights as we enjoy Churchill, a place where most people only dream of visiting. The locals bend over backwards to see that we have a good time. If we are lucky, on clear nights, the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) is spectacular here. Vivid colorful displays of this phenomenon highlight Churchill’s dark nights with dancing bands of green, red, yellow and white. Beside Polar Bear watching and three great local presentations, we tour the city and area for two days before flying back to Thompson in the late afternoon of the fourth day.
We tour the laid back town of Thompson and enjoy a relaxing dinner before heading south for dinner and an overnight stop in Grahamdale.
We have lots to see and do in Winnipeg where we enjoy two days of guided bus tours seeing the highlights of this lovely city. We Have a farewell dinner party on day 19 to celebrate this great adventure.
Join this Arctic Adventure to view and photograph the incredible Polar Bears of Churchill. You’ll be glad you did.
