Each year in October, one of the world’s most fascinating wildlife events occurs. Scores of big, brutish, and beautiful Polar Bears gather along the shores of the Hudson Bay in the far reaches of Manitoba, Canada waiting to begin the annual migration for their winter-feeding season. We are there during this peak time. These magnificent animals can weigh as much as 1,300 pounds and often stand on their hind legs to peek into the windows of our vehicles. What an awesome photo opportunity!

If you have viewed one of the many television documentaries on PBS, BBC or the Discovery Channel, chances are it was filmed in Churchill. Polar Bears are normally solitary creatures, but in Churchill, at this time of year, we see them gathering, even mothers and cubs. Wildlife watchers and photographers from all over the world travel to Churchill to witness this remarkable event.

WINNIPEG Our adventure begins in Winnipeg, Manitoba where you may arrive by RV, car or airplane. (If you arrive by RV, it may be left at the Arrowhead RV Park). For two days we are pampered in style as we stay at one of Winnipeg’s most prestigious landmarks, the elegant and luxurious Fort Garry Hotel. It is a turn of the century hotel built for the rich and famous by the Canadian Pacific Railroad. We start the trip with a welcome orientation and briefing as we have lots to see and do in Winnipeg. That evening we enjoy a welcome and get acquainted dinner so everyone can get to know who they are traveling with.

On Day two we enjoy a guided bus tour to see the many highlights that Winnipeg has to offer.

Early the next morning we board our plane for our trip to Churchill and “The Polar Bear Capital of the World.”

CHURCHILL We are in awe for the next five days as we enjoy Churchill, a place where most people only dream of visiting. If we are lucky, on clear nights, the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) is spectacular here. Beside Polar Bear watching and two great local presentations; we tour the area for two of the days. We take a bus and spend quality time on a wildlife tour and perhaps have an opportunity to view Polar Bears up close and personal at the “Dog Pond.” This is an area where Polar Bears congregate every day.

Day four and day six are dedicated to why we came to Churchill, to see Polar Bears in their natural habitat. Only in Churchill can we enjoy a “Once in a Lifetime Experience” seeing Polar Bears within a few feet as we gaze in amazement at the beauty of these gorgeous animals. Only in Churchill can we enjoy riding in the comfort and safety of our chartered Tundra Buggy® observing Polar Bears for two days. They are climate controlled specially built vehicles with bathrooms and huge tires made exclusively for Polar Bear viewing in the tundra. Only in Churchill can we photograph Polar Bears playing or a Polar Bear just outside the Tundra Buggy window in its own environment. Enjoying the Tundra Buggy is an incredible experience that you will talk about for the rest of your life.

We fly back to Winnipeg in the early evening of day seven and spend the night at the Hilton Hotel near the airport before enjoying our farewell breakfast, hugs and good-byes the next morning.

Join us to see and photograph the incredible Polar Bears of Churchill and have an Arctic Adventure you will never forget..
